The 37-year-old Telopea man allegedly robbed a licenced hotel in Kingswood, western Sydney at 12.40am on May 8 with a gun, police said.
He escaped the pub with cash after allegedly threatening three staff members and got into the backseat of a rideshare car.
Emergency services responded to reports of the robbery and established a perimetre around the scene.
Police pulled over the man's rideshare car and spoke to him briefly before investigators said he fled on foot and jumped fences to evade officers.
The rideshare car was searched and police found a prohibited firearm and multiple items of clothing.
The search continued for 40 minutes before a police dog caught the man's scent in a Bringelly Lane dumpster.
The stolen cash was allegedly found during a search of the man.
He has been charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon and was refused bail while his case progresses through Penrith Local Court.
