Raglan Public School, where many people voted, is surrounded by a nature strip in dire need of mowing.
The grass is quite long and a danger now it is summer and the snakes are becoming active.
We have community minded residents out here who have mowed the grass in the past, but why should they have to do this when the council has a parks and garden staff?
RECENT LETTERS TO THE EDITOR:
I am aware the rain has caused more grass than usual, but would it be possible to employ casual staff to take control of the long grass?
We pay exorbitant rates (mine over $4000pa) and I believe the control of long grass should be a priority at the moment.
Money for mowing would be far more beneficial than some other projects proposed by the council.
