One final hurrah
LAUNCHING on Saturday at midday and repeated on Sunday at 9am and Monday at 10.30am is a special birthday message to close this milestone month.
Included in the message are new songs from The Safety of Life At Sea, and Smith & Jones, recorded live in the spectacular 2MCE music library, plus birthday wishes from local notables.
You'll hear the audio on the radio and you can watch the video on 2MCE's Facebook page. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the message, made with the assistance of Kevin Ng and Brett Van Heekeren.
Still got the blues
COMMENCING next week is a brand new program combining music and history, I'll Play the Blues For You, presented by Nigel Irvine.
This new program brings a mixture of new blues, along with traditional, both British and American, as well as a mixture of reggae, and Americana music with a strong historical narrative.
Nigel is a retired history teacher, and life time collector of music. He also developed a Board of Studies approved course on the History of Rock n' Roll, so knows his historical stuff.
Tune in and enjoy the music and appreciate the history!
I'll Play the Blues for You will go to air on alternate Wednesdays (commencing June 2) at 2pm.
Wednesday music
2MCE is pleased to welcome Lawrence Wardman back to daytime programming.
Lawrence will play a delightful mix of nostalgia, including The Beatles, Neil Diamond and the music you'll love to accompany you through your Wednesday morning.
Morning Music with Lawrence Wardman goes to air from 9am each Wednesday.
New volunteers
WECLOME to new volunteers at 2MCE-FM Jill English and Callum Putt.
You'll hear Jill and Callum in the Talking Newspaper program which airs each weekday from noon.
