Bathurst friends Jess Murray, Alice Gates, Kate Hannigan and Camara Cosier have raised - at last count - a combined $3977.32 in their 'Shear Madness' fundraising team, smashing their original target of $3000.
Ms Murray, Ms Gates and Ms Hannigan will all be shaving their hair off, while Ms Cosier will dye her hair.
The headshavers will have their hair plaited prior to having it cut.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"We have to have our hair plaited to make it sustainable," Ms Hannigan said.
"After being shaved, the hair will be sent off to the Sustainable Salon, which makes wigs for people with cancer."
World's Greatest Shave helps raise money for blood cancer research, with participants being sponsored to shave, cut or colour their hair to help Australian patients and their families dealing with the disease.
Ms Hannigan said it's a worthwhile cause to support because how far reaching cancer is.
"In general, we've all known someone with cancer, so we wanted to give back," she said.
"All money raised goes to the Leukemia Foundation, which shows massive support to a good cause."
The headshave day (or hair dye for Ms Cosier) will be held on Sunday, December 13, with the group hosting a fundraising barbecue for their friends and supporters.
Due to coronavirus restrictions, numbers are limited, however, the event will be livestreamed.
