On Sunday the centre will open its doors, and is inviting the community to come and celebrate the facilities.
Bathurst Aquatic Centre Manager, Oliver Barclay, said the 10-year anniversary is a great milestone for the Bathurst Aquatic Centre.
“Over this time, we have had well over a million visits and taught thousands of kids to learn to swim. Bathurst is privileged to have a great facility like this which offers a 50m outdoor pool, 25m indoor pool, program pool, spa, sauna, steam room and café.”
As part of their efforts to connect Australian communities with leisure activities, the open day will include an aqua inflatable, a jumping castle, barbeque lunch and novelty races.
All guests will have the opportunity to join a swim school membership and receive two weeks free of swimming and water safety lessons taught by AUSTSWIM or equivalent accredited teachers.
The day gets underway at 11am and continues through until 4pm. A birthday cake celebrating 10 years will be cut at 1.30pm, and novelty races will get underway at 1pm.
