Bathurst Regional Council has teamed with the NSW Department of Industry to Dr Keith Suter to Bathurst to address local business people on how he sees the future for the local economy.
Dr Suter is best-known to Australian audiences as the international affairs expert on Channel Seven’s Sunrise program, but he also holds three doctorates and is a member of the Exclusive Club of Rome, a prestigious global think-tank which only has 100 members around the world.
Dr Suter will be providing his unique insights into what is in store for the Australian and NSW economy at an economic and business outlook morning tea to be held at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, February 28.
It will start at 10.30am with all welcome.
Mayor Gary Rush said the morning tea represented a unique opportunity for local businesses to engage with a respected and influential thinker.
“Dr Suter has a well established reputation for providing real insights into complex global business issues, showing how these issues impact upon regional businesses both now and into the future,” Cr Rush said.
Back to Business Week is a NSW Government initiative that celebrates small to medium businesses and promotes and supports the critical role they play in local communities.
Cr Rush said council was pleased to support local initiatives.
“Bathurst Regional Council is committed to recognising and supporting the many diverse businesses of the Bathurst region,” he said.
“It is important for all local businesses to understand the current and future economic challenges we all face.
“Particularly [important is] how the major political and economic changes occurring around the world will trickle down and affect regional centres like Bathurst.
“This is the subject that Dr Suter will bring his special focus to at this event.”
